Welcome friends and family of Alex and Dane!

This Blog has been created by friends and family of Alex and Dane as they make their way down the road to recovery, after being struck by lightning 10/5/2010. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as this road will likely be a long one. Feel free to check back often for status updates on both Alex and Dane, and be sure and leave your well-wishes when you visit. The boys will be shown this blog when they are awake.

We sincerely Thank You for your concern and friendship. Alex and Dane will always remember the support of friends and family like you.

Honoring

The past few weeks the boys have been able to attend events in honor of those that have helped them on their journey towards recovery.  Tuesday Officer T. Brown received an award from the St. George Police Department for his efforts on October 5, 2010.  Officer Brown is SCHS's Officer and was one of the first responders that frightful day in October.  I was so touched to be at the awards night and thank him and the STGPD for inviting us.  To all the officers that received awards, Thank you for your service.  To you "its your job", to us, that you served, its our lives.  We met a few other people that had also had their lives saved by an Officer, I loved hearing their stories.  We live in a great community.

  1. I am Alex stepfather. I have not always been on the side of the law that, let's just say...send Christmas cards to each other!

I do want to say publicly, Thank you for what you do! Our lives and the lives of countless others are protected and supported by your efforts daily!

Thank you officer Brown! without you there, there were some who thought the CPR should stop and that it was a hopeless and lost cause. Because of you all, Alex will be WALKING through his High School Graduation ceremony!!

    May God Bless You ALL!!

Your family strength, through so much adversity, is a monument to us all. We love and appreciate what you have done for us as well!

We will all be in the auditorium to cheer as Alex WALKS across that stage! God Bless YOU!

  3. What's that, David? No Christmas love for the Po Po?! Bahahahahaha! There's GOT to be a good back story to that comment!

I wish I could be there to see Alex walk up and snatch his diploma! I would be one of the MOST proud. Truly I would. I know how hard you've worked, Alex.

To any and all that read this blog - never stop CPR - never, never, never! If possible, please wait for a doctor to make that decision. I know it takes great strength to push on when you think all hope is lost. But, Dane and Alex are proof that hope is a funny thing and shouldn't be traded for despair.

Hip, hip, hooray, St. George! You people are amazing!
