This Blog has been created by friends and family of Alex and Dane as they make their way down the road to recovery, after being struck by lightning 10/5/2010. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as this road will likely be a long one. Feel free to check back often for status updates on both Alex and Dane, and be sure and leave your well-wishes when you visit. The boys will be shown this blog when they are awake.
We sincerely Thank You for your concern and friendship. Alex and Dane will always remember the support of friends and family like you.

Update on Dane - Thursday PM
Dane's MRI was positive as well!!! His breathing tube has been removed. He will have a lot of rehab to do, but his parents are feeling very optimistic and blessed. It has been a pretty good day for both boys, all things considered. Thanks for all the support!
Oh my heck! that is so great. what a relief, I am so glad to hear that Dane is improving also and is gunna be okay. I don't know him very well but i had to say how relieved i am. I live pretty close to him so I have been really worried, and am very glad today is going good and hope it keeps heading in this same direction. -Brenden Fleck.
We have been very concerned for both boys, we will keep them in our prayers. We live in Bloomington. My sister worked with Dane's mom at Ocean's Restaurant in Salt Lake, Leigh Ballard.
Kaleen! I just found out that your Alex was one of the boys in the news story about the boys struck by lightning! Oh my goodness!!! Here I have been patting myself on the back for not watching TV or being on the computer very much the past few days -- what a time to choose to do that.
We have such fond memories of our days in Provo with you and your boys, and are just heartsick that this has happened to Alex. John and Katie and I are sending all our prayers and best wishes your way.
Faith and prayers... faith and prayers!!! You guys have a TON of support here at home for you!!! I heard that the day after the incident that all of the kids at school wore their Sunday best and were fasting for the boys. It was a very reverent experience, I have heard.
A friend on FB posted this story. I will keep the boys in my prayers and the families as well. They look like they are making a remarkable recovery. I pray for strength for all those involved to uplift these two young men. May God wrap his everloving arms around you all. In Christ Name Dana--Calais, Maine
I am so relieved to hear the boys are doing well. I don't know either of them personally, but I have kids the same age and have experienced the loss of my sister who was 16 and know the pain and fear of loss. I prayed for them and their families. SO HAPPY they are on the road to recovery. Smiles Ü
When times like these happen there is no better place to live than St. Geroge. My family does not know either family, but our son goes to SCHS and knows them. When we heard the news we immediately joined the rest of this community in prayer for these 2 boys. We will continue those prayers until they are well. May God continue to bless you all.
I am so glad to here these two boys are going to recover. They are an inspiration to me personally and let me know that miracles do happen. When this happened I had just got back from being life flighted the Friday before. I had brain surgery to remove a bleeding tumor and MRI showed a second. So Cancer. On this day of the accident I had been told Stage 4 and not curable. When I heard about these boys. I just felt wow my heart went out to them and I thought what are the chances of that as I was in my own shock of my own situation. I kept asking about them. When I heard they were going to be okay. I was so relieved. Miracles do happen and they are fighters. We were supposed to have been moved over to your area when I was life flighted. We will be there this week. I hope to see these two boys sometime. Because they helped me to realize things could be worse and they are an inspiration as I fight as well. You are all in my prayers. I know how comforting it is to have all this love and support and the prayers. You are in mine as well.
